Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego Earns Spot on U.S. News Best Children’s Hospitals Honor Roll for Second Year

For the second year, Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego has been named by U.S. News & World Report to its Best Children’s Hospitals Honor Roll, a distinction awarded to only ten children’s hospitals nationwide. U.S. News has also named Rady Children’s Hospital as tied for the No. 1 ranked pediatric hospital and the Pacific Region, along with Children's Hospital Los Angeles and Seattle Children’s Hospital.

Rady Children’s had five specialties rank among the top 10 in the nation; Cardiology & Heart Surgery #3; Orthopedics #5; Neurology & Neurosurgery #8; Diabetes & Endocrinology #9 and Urology #10 and maintained its eight-year streak of achieving rankings in all specialties surveyed. U.S. News added a new category for 2024-2025 – Pediatric & Adolescent Behavioral Health – in which Rady Children’s was ranked among the top 50 programs in the country.

The rankings assist parents and caregivers, along with their physicians, in navigating the challenges of choosing the best care for children with serious illnesses or complex medical needs.

U.S. News and RTI International, a North Carolina-based research and consulting firm, collected and analyzed data from 108 children’s hospitals and surveyed thousands of pediatric specialists. Children’s hospitals awarded a “Best” designation excelled at factors such as clinical outcomes, level and quality of hospital resources directly related to patient care, and expert opinion among pediatric specialists.
