San Diego Magazine has released its annual “Top Doctors” list recognizing providers who are “defining the future of San Diego’s health care.” 

Physicians selected for inclusion in San Diego magazine’s “Top Doctors” feature also appear online at castleconnolly.com, or in conjunction with other Castle Connolly Top Doctors databases online on other sites and/or in print. Doctors do not and cannot pay to be selected and profiled as Castle Connolly Top Doctors.

This year's list includes over 500 doctors from the San Diego region, including doctors from Scripps Health, Sharp Medical Group, and UCSD Moores Cancer Center.

For the past 25 years, Castle Connolly has been the source for Top Doctors, establishing nomination surveys, research, screening, and selection process, under the direction of an MD. The nomination process involves hundreds of thousands of physicians and academic medical centers, specialty hospitals, and regional and community hospitals all across the nation.

The nomination process is open to all licensed physicians in the United States and covers all medical specialties. From there, Castle Connoly’s physicians-led team of researchers screens the nominees' educational and professional experience to select the top doctors in both national and regional levels. 

“Doctors do not pay to appear on our lists,” Castle Connolly explains on their website. “Through peer nomination, research, review and screening, we have comprised an extensive listing of the top San Diego doctors”

Selected physicians are included in the magazine’s “Top Doctors” feature and online on Castle Connoly’s website.
