The Chief Physician III serves as the Assistant Deputy Director to the Disease Control Bureau Deputy Director/Chief Medical Officer, overseeing operational and administrative functions within assigned divisions of the Department of Public Health. Responsibilities include leading high priority disease-control-related projects; providing medical expertise on public health issues; and coordinating disease control efforts during emergencies and infectious disease outbreaks; managing budgets; and representing the Chief Medical Officer and Health Officer at various meetings with health agencies, governmental departments, and community groups.
